Argonne Senior Physicist Paul Fenter was chosen to receive the 2012 American Crystallographic Association (ACA) B. Warren Award. Fenter was selected for this award for his work on imaging interfaces, done within the context of his geochemistry program.

The award was established in 1970 to acknowledge an important recent contribution to the physics of solids or liquids using X-ray, neutron, or electron diffraction techniques. A monetary award of $1,500 and up to $1,500 travel expenses to accept the award at Annual Meeting, and a certificate, are awarded every third year. Students and friends of Professor B.E. Warren created the award on the occasion of his retirement from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Fenter's award will be formally presented at the ACA meeting in July 2012.
